Mitchell Aaron Starc is one of Australia’s premier fast bowlers and a key figure in international cricket. Born in Baulkham Hills, New South Wales, Starc began as a wicketkeeper before transitioning to fast bowling during his teenage years—a move that shaped his cricketing destiny. He debuted for New South Wales in the domestic circuit, rapidly catching the attention of selectors with his raw pace and ability to swing the ball both ways. Starc made his Test debut for Australia in December 2011 against New Zealand and has since earned a reputation for lethal left-arm pace, toe-crushing yorkers, and composure under pressure. His World Cup heroics, particularly as 2015’s leading wicket-taker with 22 wickets at an average just above 10, were pivotal in helping Australia secure their fifth title.
