About Ding Liren's Height

Ding Liren is a Chinese chess grandmaster and the 17th FIDE World Chess Champion, holding the title from May 2023 to December 2024. Born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, Ding showed outstanding chess talent from a young age, becoming the youngest winner of the Chinese Chess Championship at 16 in 2009—a title he reclaimed in 2011 and 2012. He earned the grandmaster title in 2009 and swiftly rose to international prominence with his consistent and resilient playing style. Ding's career includes leading the Chinese national team to gold medals at the Chess Olympiad (2014) and World Team Championships. From August 2017 to November 2018, he achieved an unprecedented unbeaten streak of over 100 classical games at the elite level. His perseverance culminated in April–May 2023, when he defeated Ian Nepomniachtchi to become China's first male World Chess Champion. Off the board, Ding is renowned for his calm approach and profound strategic understanding, with his games often cited for their positional and endgame depth.
