About Christa Kinshofer's Height

Christa Kinshofer is a renowned former German alpine ski racer who rose to international prominence in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Born in Munich, Germany, Kinshofer began skiing at an early age and quickly demonstrated exceptional talent on the slopes. She made her World Cup debut in December 1977 at just sixteen years old and soon established herself as one of West Germany’s leading female skiers. Kinshofer specialized primarily in technical events—giant slalom and slalom—and achieved significant success throughout her career. Her breakthrough came during the 1979-80 season when she won three World Cup races and finished second overall in the giant slalom standings. The pinnacle of her career was at the Lake Placid Winter Olympics in 1980 where she claimed a silver medal in giant slalom for West Germany. Despite suffering serious injuries that threatened to derail her career—including a broken leg—Kinshofer made a remarkable comeback. After switching from the West German team to compete for Austria for several seasons due to disputes with national coaches, she returned to represent Germany at major competitions. At the Calgary Winter Olympics in 1988, she added two more Olympic medals—a silver (slalom) and bronze (giant slalom)—cementing her legacy as one of Germany’s most decorated female alpine skiers. After retiring from competitive skiing following the Calgary Games, Kinshofer transitioned into sports commentary for television networks such as ZDF and ARD. She has also authored books on motivation and health management while running businesses related to sports medicine with her husband Dr. Erich Rembeck.
